Shap Parish Council and Shap Bowling Club secure share of Sport England Inspired Facilities funding

Rory Stewart MP said: "I am thrilled to hear that both Shap Bowling Club, and Shap Parish Council, are to benefit from Sport England's Inspired Facilities/Places People Play Fund. This richly-deserved grant will enable Shap Bowling Club to complete the huge amount of work that has been ongoing since 2007 to upgrade their clubhouse, toilets and drainage, and will help the Parish Council to fund their Multi-use Games Area project, refurbishing an out-of-use tennis court and creating a five-a-side football, netball, basketball and cricket facility (read more here). This is truly fantastic news for Shap and shows that our rural communities are not being ignored; I applaud everyone for their hard work in obtaining this grant, and very much look forward to visiting the new facilities."
