Shap CDC Mission Statement
Shap CDC believes that all people are of value as individuals. It aims
to offer all members of the community access to quality learning experiences in a supportive environment that is nonthreatening, yet challenging. Shap CDC provides opportunities for personal and professional development by offering experiences that are shaped and influenced by local community needs and interests.

Strengthening and sustaining the people and communities of Cumbria through the power of learning.
What you can expect from us
Cumbria Adult Education Service is committed to providing a high standard of education and training to all our learners.
Our commitment to you is:

* accurate and up to date information about the course
* an enrolment which is efficient and welcoming
* high quality teaching and learning
* help and advice if you wish to change your course
* any additional support necessary to meet your needs
(subject to funding)
* free English/Maths checks and Skills for Life courses
* information about Access and Childcare Funds
* information that will help you take the next steps
As a learner on one of our programmes we would expect you to:
¨ respect tutors, staff and fellow students
¨ attend on a regular basis
¨ inform us of any health issues that affect your learning
¨ to respect the environment
¨ give us feedback about any aspect of the course
¨ inform us if you are not attending or withdrawing
¨ reflect on your learning with us to review your next steps

We value your views and opinions. From time to time we will be seeking your opinion on the service we provide through learner satisfaction surveys or learner focus groups. You can also make use of our Suggestions Box in the CDC or feedback via the Cumbria Adult Education website www.cumbriaadulteducation.org We will use this information to improve the quality of the service.
Complaints If any problems arise please discuss them as soon as possible with your tutor. If you feel you are unable to do this you can approach the Centre Manager or the Head teacher. If you wish to formalise a complaint ask the Centre Manager for a copy of our Complaints Procedure.
