Enrolment at Shap CDC

Enrolment Procedure
The centre will be open for enrolments on Monday 12th September 2011 0930 - 1600 and 1800 - 2000
You can also enrol by post, telephone, e-mail or in person. (Please note post is only delivered to the school during term-time).
Office hours Mon & Fri 9.30-12.30 during term time.
Appointments at other times by arrangement.
It is important that you let us know at least a week before the course is due to start if you want to enrol. If a course does not have a sufficient number of learners to run you will be notified and your fees will be refunded. If class numbers drop the course may be cancelled part way through. If you are interested in a course please contact us for a course information sheet which will give you more details. The first session of most courses will start 15 minutes early to allow for induction and completion of enrolment procedures.
Fees FeeA/FeeB/FeeC
Fees and concessions are set in co-operation with the Skills Funding Agency and Cumbria County Council.
Fee A the full fee payable.
Fee B available to learners over 60 on the 01/09/11 and not in
employment for more than 16 hours a week. This concession does not apply to FE accredited courses ie those leading to qualifications.
Fee C payable by those in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support, Income related Employment and Support Allowance, Working Tax Credit (subject to threshold), Housing/Council Tax Benefit and unwaged dependents of those listed. Also those aged 16 and under 19 on 01/09/11 or those in receipt of Pension Guarantee Credit. Evidence must be provided to confirm eligibility for a reduction in fee. Payment by instalment is possible for longer courses.
Access & Childcare Funds – Qualification and Skills for Life Classes
The Access & Childcare Funds may be available for students who are in receipt of one of the above means tested benefits or who are attending a Skills for Life course. The funding can help with childcare provided by a registered childminder/nursery and/or exam fees. Contact the Centre Manager for information about eligibility.
Additional Learner Support
Please let the Centre know if you require any additional support to
complete your course. This might be linked to support with writing
assignments, taking notes, taking your exams or access to buildings. Please discuss your requirements with your tutor or the Centre Manager at any time during your course.
