Location & Parking: Shap CDC is based in Shap C of E Primary School which is situated in the centre of Shap village, at the east side of the A6 and the north side of Shap Memorial Hall. Exit Junction 39 from the M6. Car parking is available in the school car park out of school hours or in the public car park on the south side of the Memorial Hall. Disabled parking is available at any time in the school car park near the main entrance to the school.
Accessing the building: The CDC office and ICT training room are situated on the first floor and access is via stairs. The Community Classroom has full disabled access and toilet facilities. The Community Classroom or Shap Memorial Hall, which also has full disabled access, will be used for adult education provision. We encourage all learners to contact us to discuss any concerns they may have regarding access to provision.
Access to the ICT Training room and CDC office is via the infant
entrance at the school. Our training room is situated on the first floor,
however we can provide workstations at ground floor level for anyone
who is unable to use the stairs. The Community Classroom on the
ground floor is accessed by the main entrance to the school. It has full
disabled access, toilet facilities and a designated parking area at the
main entrance to the school. Other parking is available in the school
parking areas out of school hours or in the public car park 50 metres to
the south of the school. The Memorial Hall which is adjacent to the
school at the south side has full disabled access and toilet facilities and
designated disabled parking at the front of the building.
Outreach venues: We also use various outreach venues for our courses. These include Shap Memorial Hall and Shap Community Library
