SCHOOL DINNERS
Several parents raised concerns at our last meeting on the use of ‘flight trays’ at lunch time. Lois had a meeting with Brenda from Cumbria Catering and we now have several alternatives to look at.
If you feel strongly about replacing the flight trays, regardless of whether your child currently has a school dinner or a packed lunch, you are welcome to come and view the replacements on offer from Cumbria Catering after school on Monday 1st June. Hopefully we will find a suitable alternative from those on offer without having to source from elsewhere.
UPDATE (June '09)
All comments have been taken on board and the flight trays will be replaced by melamine plates and bowls (rimmed). The new 'crockery' should be in place by September. Lois to look into possible H&S issues regarding the use of trays, and hopefully we may be able to do without those too. A further meeting with Cumbria Catering will be necessary to address the desire for children not to be served pudding at the same time as the main course.
Special thanks to Sharron Metcalfe for managing the Co-op Dividend. Receipts can be brought into the school office at any time or handed to Margaret Mossman.

A huge 'Thank you' to all those who baked, served or ate cakes at our Afternoon Tea on Wednesday 8th July. Special thanks to Rob at The Greyhound Hotel for the huge gateaux and the loan of the table cloths, it was much appreciated. We were completely overwhelmed by the success of our first teatime venture which raised an amazing £365 for funds. Definately a fundraiser to remember for future years!
