Farmhouse B&B Accommodation

New Ing Lodge offers B&B and dorm style rooms in the Eastern Fells on the edge of the Lake District and the Eden Valley in Cumbria. We are positioned on Wainwright's Coast to Coast and the Westmoreland Way, and are easily accessible for the Eastern Fells of the Lake District, The Howgills and The Pennines. New Ing Farm was a working farm up until the late 1980's but as far as records can be found, it has also been a Coach House/ Guest House since 1820.

It also makes us just over a hour and a half from cities such as Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester, and less than a hour from Newcastle and Preston. We are easy to reach by public transport with Penrith train station on the main Virgin west coast line from London and Glasgow. From Penrtih station buses run to Shap regularly and 25mins (but not on a Sunday).

Bed & Breakfast

Our B&B rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floor at New Ing Lodge.

Each room has local information and tea and coffee facilities available.

 

Dorm Rooms

Our 2 mixed dormitory rooms sleep 6 and 8 people on the 2nd floor.

There is a small kitchen with microwave, kettle, 2 rung hob a sink and all utensils needed for guests staying in the dorm rooms.

The kitchen will accommodate up to 4 people at any one time.

 
Basic Camping

We have camping facilities for upto 12 prs per night. Camping is £4 pppn.

Outdoor facilities only. Or £6 with use of the indoor facilities.

There is an outside toilet and wash basin with showers situated on the 2nd floor of the Lodge.

 
Activities

We offer a range of activities from our Lodge. We provide maps and details for walkers and mountain bikes. Bikes for hire with a special rate for residents and a guide if wanted.We have an orienteering course outside our back door and one that takes in many sights of Shap.For availability and prices please contact us:
