Welcome to Shap Ramblers

The Shap Ramblers was formed in May 2005 as a result of the Vital Villages survey. Walks have taken place regularly since then - in the evenings during the Summer and on Sunday afternoons as the evenings have grown darker.  They are advertised locally on notices around the village and all are welcome.  At the end of a walk the next one is usually arranged, with various people suggesting and leading walks.  Walks either start in the village or just a short drive away, and have included the following: Wet Sleddale, Shap Abbey and Rosgill, Bampton Grange and Knipe, Oddendale, Swindale to Naddle, and around Lowther.

You can view pictures of some of our walks by following the links below. The albums will open in a new window and are best viewed with Broadband. To return here close the open window.
